Engineering This office is located at 833 South Spruce Street, 2nd Floor, and houses the Director of Public Works, the Assistant Director, an Engineering Technician and an Administrative Specialist. The Engineering Department provides technical support for the other departments and provides assistance with private project developments and city-financed projects. The department reviews all the site plans for development in Burlington, including parking lot areas, street and utility improvements. The department is also responsible for capital facilities projects including streets, sewers, pump stations, sidewalks, and traffic signals. The department also provides assistance to the outdoor departments that have technical needs. Also the department keeps all of the engineering records for the City, which include drawings of the different subdivisions, commercial entities, and street and sewer projects.
