    Burlington Volunteer Firefighters

The Volunteer firefighters in this organization are a dedicated group of individuals who support the Fire Department in their efforts to provide life and property protection to the citizens of Burlington and Skagit County Fire District 6.

The Volunteer probationary Firefighter will have a 12-month probationary period and during this period he/she shall attend the Skagit County Fire Training Academy and department orientation. Department training begins after graduation from the county academy. Once graduated, the volunteer will be assigned to a battalion and a primary mentor. They will be issued a training and orientation manual and pager.

The majority of Burlington Fire Department calls are medical emergencies. Volunteers are encouraged to become a Washington State Emergency Medical Technician.
