Law enforcement has no legal authority to direct where any offender may or may not live.  Unless court ordered restrictions exist, these offenders are constitutionally free to live wherever they choose. The public must realize that as law enforcement has no authority to direct where a sex offender lives there are transient sex offenders that may be in the community and unknown to law enforcement. 

 

LEVEL 1 SEX OFFENDERS

 

Washington State Law strictly limits public disclosure of all Level I Registered Sex Offender Information.

 

Information shall be shared with other law enforcement agencies and, upon request,   relevant, necessary and accurate information may be disclosed to any victim or witness to the offense and to any individual community member who lives near the residence where the offender resides, expects to reside or is regularly found.  Level I offenders MAY NOT be the subject of general public notification.

  

LEVEL 1 SEX OFFENDERS in the City of Burlington

 

There are currently twelve  (12) Level 1 Sex Offenders living within the city limits of Burlington.

 

You may contact the Burlington Police Department, 311 Cedar Avenue, Suite B, Burlington, to receive specific information about one of the individuals if you meet the legally mandated criteria, reference R.C.W. 4.24.550.  Anyone requesting such information will be required to show that they are entitled under the State Law to receive the information.  For general information or criteria concerning sex offenders, you may call the Burlington Police Department at (360) 755-0921.

 

LEVEL II SEX OFFENDERS   

 

Washington State Law prohibits the public disclosure of Level II Sex Offenders except under specific criteria.  Level II notifications including relevant, necessary and accurate information may be disclosed to the public and private schools, child day care centers, family day care providers, business and organizations that serve primarily children, women or vulnerable adults, and neighbors and community groups near the residence where the offender resides, expects to reside or is regularly found.  Level II offenders MAY NOT be the subject of general public notification.

 

LEVEL II SEX OFFENDERS in the City of Burlington

 

There is currently one (2) Level II Sex Offender living within the city limits of Burlington. 

 

LEVEL III SEX OFFENDERS

 

Washington State Law allows the notification about Level III Sex Offenders that include relevant, accurate and necessary information.  This information MAY BE disclosed to the public at large.

 

LEVEL III SEX OFFENDERS in the City of Burlington.   

 

There is currently Zero (0)  Level III Sex Offenders living in the City of Burlington.
