Mission Statement

The Burlington Police Community Resource Unit Recognizes its Mission to Reduce Criminal Opportunities by Providing Education and Information To and In Partnership with the Business, Residential, Educational, Faith Based, and Service Club Communities.

The Community Resource Unit established in July of 2009 organizes, establishes, maintains, expands and promotes coordinated crime prevention and community related programs with the City of Burlington. This includes an ongoing outreach to groups, neighborhoods, businesses, schools, and other members of the public and private sectors.  The efforts result in pro-active crime awareness and crime prevention programs while developing and strengthening a healthy rapport with the community.

·         Fraud/Identity Theft/Forgery Presentation

·         Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design "CPTED"

·         Presentation of Available Programs for Business and Service Organizations

·         Establishing and Sustaining a Neighborhood Block Watch Program

·         Overview of Local Gangs and their Impacts on our Communities
